The CableLeader FB117-92XX is an OS2 simplex hybrid patch cable that crosses both connector format and polish in one factory assembly: a green LC/APC connector on one end, a blue SC/UPC connector on the other, on one Corning single mode fiber in a single 2.0 mm jacket. It exists for the border where angle-polished APC plant meets flat-polished UPC equipment — a junction that otherwise requires two cables and a hybrid coupler — and is offered from 1 m through 10 m.

 

Orientation is fixed by the polish, not by signal direction. The green LC/APC end plugs into green APC ports — GPON OLT line cards, APC distribution panels, and reflection-sensitive analog equipment — where the 8-degree angled endface holds return loss at 65 dB minimum. The blue SC/UPC end plugs into blue UPC ports — legacy media converters, SC-port ONTs, and SC-port switches — at the 55 dB UPC standard. Never reverse the ends: an APC connector in a UPC port, or the reverse, leaves an air gap at the mismatched interface and can permanently damage both ferrules.
