The CableLeader FB114-96XX is an OS2 single mode duplex patch cable terminated with SC/APC connectors on both ends, identified by green housings. APC — angled physical contact — polishes each ferrule endface at an 8-degree angle, redirecting back-reflection into the cladding rather than straight back toward the source. The result is a minimum return loss of 65 dB, meaningfully higher than the 55 dB of a UPC connector, and the reason FTTH and GPON standards specify APC. Inside the yellow jacket run two Corning 9/125 um G657A1 fibers.

 

SC is the connector of the access network. Fiber wall plates, GPON splitter ports, and ONT uplinks overwhelmingly use the square-bodied push-pull SC format, whose keyed housing and 2.5 mm ferrule seat with a positive click that survives repeated household and field handling.
