The CableLeader FB112-91XX is an OS2 single mode duplex patch cable with a deliberately mixed termination: one end is LC/UPC with blue housings, the other LC/APC with green housings. The two polish types are electrically identical glass but optically incompatible connectors — an APC ferrule is cut at an 8-degree angle, a UPC ferrule is flat — so ports of one type can never accept a cable of the other. This hybrid cable exists precisely to join them in a single factory-terminated link.

 

The LC/UPC end carries the flat, domed endface standard on data equipment. It is rated 55 dB minimum return loss and plugs into SFP transceivers, media converters, network switches, and UPC patch panels. Like the far end, it uses a short boot 19.5 mm LC connector and is factory-tested to 0.30 dB maximum insertion loss at 1310/1550 nm.

 

The LC/APC end is polished at 8 degrees, redirecting back-reflection into the cladding for a 65 dB minimum return loss. Green housings mark it for the APC side of the link: GPON distribution panels, optical splitters, and ONT or OLT hardware in the access network, where angled polish is specified to protect reflection-sensitive signals.

 

The jacket is LSZH/OFNR rated under UL file E510298. Low-smoke zero-halogen material limits toxic emissions in enclosed equipment rooms, while the OFNR riser rating permits vertical runs between floors. Is this cable compatible with my switch and GPON equipment?

Yes, when the switch side is a UPC port and the GPON side is APC. Plug the blue LC/UPC end into the SFP transceiver, switch, or media converter, and the green LC/APC end into the GPON panel, splitter, or ONT/OLT port. If both of your ports are the same polish type, use a same-polish cable instead of this hybrid.
